The Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT) is an exam used for admission to specialized high schools in New York City. These prestigious public schools are known for their advanced curriculum, strong faculty, and opportunities for research and extracurricular activities, making them highly sought after by students and parents. Admission to eight of the nine specialized high schools is based on the results of the SHSAT.

Under the leadership of The New York Residents Alliance (NYRA), a federally registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Youth4AM is committed to equal opportunities for all, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or financial status. We uphold a standard of merit-based excellence, achieved through hard work, persistence, and continuous self-improvement. Youth4AM has been successfully organizing a 6-week, 120-hour SHSAT Preparation Camp since 2019. Our program is renowned for its Scientific Test Preparation Method, Dedicated Professional Teachers, In-depth Analysis of Each Student’s Strengths and Weaknesses, Timely Communication with Parents, Outstanding Teaching Assistants from Specialized High Schools, and 1-on-1 Monitoring and Tutoring.

This program is open to ALL rising 7th graders and rising 8th graders. Students are eligible to join the program regardless of  their GPA or state test scores. However, students must demonstrate a commitment to putting in the necessary effort by completing all assigned tasks. Enrolled students are required to attend ALL sessions punctually, including the Opening and Closing ceremonies, daily lessons, and enrichment webinars. Students must also keep their cameras on during these sessions and complete assignments timely.

Youth4AM’s classes will take place VIRTUALLY over Zoom with a certified teacher, smaller group sessions with TAs, lessons, in-depth homework review, and mock tests.

New York Residents Alliance (NYRA) is a federally registered 501(3c) nonprofit organization. We do not receive any government funding, and thus we rely on tuition payments to run the program. Thanks to our volunteers, this 120-hour camp charges an hourly rate starting at just $8. This covers the cost for all learning materials and an original Youth4AM T-shirt.
